Mauricio Pochettino has criticised the use of VAR despite it coming to Tottenham’s rescue in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Chelsea at Wembley.Harry Kane slammed home a penalty after being scythed down by Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the video assistant referee ruling the England striker had stayed onside in the build-up.4

The decision means Pochettino’s side take an advantage to Stamford Bridge for the January 24 second leg, but the Spurs boss was less than satisfied.Pochettino told a post-match media conference: “It’s a system that sometimes kills the emotions.
